Frozen Lush Review

A little while ago Lush released a bath bomb based on the Disney favourite Frozen. Well, do I love Disney? YES! Do I love Lush? YES! So obviously I grabbed myself one!

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 12.43.37

I normally go for the bath bombs with an array of colours but when I saw this bath bomb it was just shades of blue, which is to be expected as they are the iconic colours to the film. I wasn’t really sure if I was going to love it. I really did want to because of the theming but I just has a feeling I wouldn’t.

BOY WAS I WRONG. I loved it.

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 12.43.55

Its quite a large bath bomb and a simple one too but it was very effective. The scent of Neroli Oil and Grapefruit Oil are very strong in this bath bomb.Neroli provides a really light floral and sweet smell and is balanced out by the bitter note of Grapefruit. And together they make a perfect fragrance, which I now think that Queen Elsa smells like.

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 12.44.22.png

When I placed this blue gem in my bath it started to fizz a lot and spews out a thick blue and white foam creating ice blue swirls in my bath. My entire bath was left the beautiful clear blue colour and it had tons of glitter swirling around.  I literally felt like Elsa had created this bath for me, it was magical.

Saving Mr Banks (2013) Movie Review

I know that I am really behind on the band wagon here and as a Disney fan I feel a little disappointed with myself but the honest reason I have been putting off watching Saving Mr Banks is that I really hate watching people try and play Walt Disney.

When Hollywood use the term ‘Based on a true story’ it doesn’t often mean a lot in historical accuracy. In this case the story of Walt Disney attempting to gain the rights to P.L .Travers iconic story Mary Poppins, the Disney Company have welcomed positivity on to what is a grim part of Disney history.

Tom Hanks play film maker and imagineer Walt Disney as he seeks to turn the Mary Poppins classic into a magical feature film, an aspiration that the author P.L.Travis, played by Emma Thompson disagree’s on. Tension begins to rise in the studio between imagineers which in result starts to bring up P.L.Travers dark past and starts to show the deeper and truer meanings behind her book.

The movie unravels the troubles P.L.Travers faced growing up, with her mothers (Ruth Wilson) attempted suicide and her fathers (Colin Farrell) alcoholism leading to death.

I really enjoyed the movie and was pleasantly surprised by the story line. I was initially frustrated with how bitter P.L.Travers was but found my self laughing when she related a little and started to enjoy myself. As I do when I watch most movies, I ended up crying towards the end I wouldn’t say its was great for kids, even though it is a Disney movie, with the death, alcoholism and attempted suicide it could be a little much for the younger audience.

Even though, with most Hollywood films, it may stray from the harsher truth to make the movie a little more cheery, I would definitely recommend this film if you haven’t already seen it.

Star Wars Clothing

Star Wars, The Force Awakens is due to be released in the UK on 18th December and I am super excited about it.

I was having a look around for different Star Wars themed clothing for women so I could purchase a tee or something to wear to the screening and my goodness did I come across some great finds!

They were all too amazing to keep to my self so I thought I would share them with you.

(Click the photo of the item to purchase/see more info)

First I am going to start with Truffle Shuffle. I am going to admit I used to love this store in my teens but as I grew up I kind of forgot about it. I was really happy though to find its still going strong, they really do have some great gems.

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 19.28.44

This tee is awesome and absolutely perfect with Christmas around the corner! They range from S-XXL and are only £15.99.

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 19.34.26

This tee is perfect for ladies that don’t like to much pattern and its actually unisex. They range from XS-XXL and are a little on the pricey side at £29.99.

The next store I was to talk to you about is a store that I have only recently come across and its called Her Universe. I ma be late on the band wagon her but for anyone else that hasn’t heard of this store, its basically a store for nerdy women, it’s perfect.

It is a US store so you will need to keep in consideration shipping costs but I think it’s totally worth it.

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 19.40.16.png

A lot of people complain about leggings but how can you complain about STAR WARS LEGGINGS! They range from XS-4XL and prices are from $30.00.

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 19.44.00

This lightsaber skirt is to die for. Like, how cute is this? I think this is my favourite item ever! They range from XS-4XL and is $75.00

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 19.47.12

And what goes perfectly with a lightsaber skirt? Thats right, a light sabre tee! They range from XS-XXL and cost only $25.00.

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 21.15.35.png

Okay, I may have lied. This is my favorite, just look at those colours. This cloud city pin up style dress is perfect for you girly Star Wars fans. These range from XS-4XL and is $125.00 but totally worth it if you ask me.

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 19.52.57

This Ewok hooded tank is so fun and very cute. I love it. These range from S-4XL and cost just $40.00.

There is so much more out there but honestly if i listed it all this post would go on forever!

The Experimenter Review

Hey guys, so today I wanted to talk to you about a bath bomb called The Experimenter by LUSH (obviously). I wasn’t sure if I was going to do this review because I know a lot of people have already used this bath bomb but I decided that I would because the people who haven’t used it NEED to know about this beauty!

Straight away when I picked The Experimenter I know it was going to be a colourful one, but I tell you know that was the understatement of the year. The smell is very distinctive, it smells just like the LUSH Gorilla perfume All Good Things but as it fizzed in my tub the room was filled with the scent of vanilla, which was lovely.

This bath bomb is a fast fizzer but I didn’t mind because I was left mesmerised by the literal rainbow that was in bath. Colours instantly swirling around each other and not only that, there is also popping candy for that extra bit of fun! The colour sit on top of the water for a while creating an almost blanket effect.

After a little while the colours start to merge to gather creating a navy blue water with specks of silver glitter which makes it look like you are bathing in a story night. Oh yes, I forgot to mention the glitter. Theres loads of it. It’s beautiful. Obviously if you hate glitter then stay away from this one because you will twinkle for ages.

In my opinion this bath bomb isn’t the most moisturising but I didn’t really mind, the colours were just magical and I think I’m going to give this my number one spot on my bath bomb list. Plus, LUSH sell plenty of other wonderful products to make up for the moisture!

Quantitative Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Popping Candy, Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoldes), Tonka Absolute (Dipteryx odorata), Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Cream Of Tartar (Potassium bitrate), Water (Aqua), Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Coumarin, Limonene, Eugenol, Linalool, Calcium Sodium Borosillicate, Tin Oxide, Gold Glimmer Lustre (Synthetic Fluorphlogite, Colour 77492, Silica), Colour 42090, Colour 45410, Colour 45350.

Price (in 2015): £3.95

I Heart…Quadrilogy book review

I feel a bit cheeky naming this post a quadrilogy review because I’m yet to read the fourth book, I Heart Vegas* and the fifth book, I Heart London* by Lindsey Kelk I have however read the first three books in this series, I Heart New York*, I Heart Hollywood* and I Heart Paris*. I have to admit they are one of the best series that I have read.

I like easy reading. I like books I can relate to. So I tend to stick to young adult books.

I Heart New York

A friend that I worked with bought this book the year it was released and would read it on her lunch break. When she was finished with it I asked if I could read the back, which may have led to me reading half the book that day. I enjoyed it so much that as soon as I was home I jumped online and ordered myself one!

The story begins in London, with twenty-something Angela Clark catching her Fiancé cheating on her in the back of their car whilst they are at her best friends wedding.  The worst part being that everyone already knew, except Angela.

Angela escapes to New York for what is planned to be a little while. She rents a hotel room for a few days whilst she is there and a lot of unexpected things happen. She befriends one of the hotel clerks, She meets two very different men along the way, both who sweep her off her feet, there is a lot of shopping and she ends up bagging a job doing just what she loves, writing!

What we really want to know though is, will she go back to London, as her family and friends are urging her to, or will she stay in New York and fulfil her dreams?

I Heart Hollywood

I Heart Hollywood is the second of five books in Kelks I Heart… series and having enjoyed the first one so much I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book as soon as it was released in 2010.

In I Heart Hollywood Angela Clark is given a big opportunity to go to Hollywood and interview the gorgeous actor James Jacobs. Problems start to occur between her and her new boyfriend Alex when photographers snapping some photos making it look like her and James are an item. On top of this she is really close to losing her job which also means losing her Visa and having to go back to her old life in England.

Angela has to try to prove that there is nothing going on between her and James but this is not going to be easy. No one believes her and she has to admit looking at the pictures it does paint a pretty convincing story. But Angela finds out some information about James which could save her but how will she be able to prove it?

The sort of this book defiantly doesn’t match the title though because Angela defiantly didn’t heart Hollywood.

I didn’t really enjoy this book as much I did the first one.

I Heart Paris

I didn’t buy this book as quickly as the others because i was a little let down by the second, but oh my goodness did Kelk bring it back to life with this third book!

The moment Angela boards the plane trouble starts and the disasters keep coming. When Angela arrives in Paris finds that her luggage has been blown up so she only has the items which she is standing in. If this was not bad enough when she walks into the cafe to meet Alex she sees a blonde bombshell sitting on his lap! Angela finds herself very isolated and a little home sick in this third book when she finds out some truths about Alex’s past, and finds herself at a point where her job, relationship, and friendships are all on the line.

What was meant to be a nice romantic break to Paris was actually the break from hell. You find when you are reading this book you keep thinking surely things cannot get any worse for Angela but something else always seems to happen. That being said there is an unexpected twist towards the end!

I felt more connected to Angela in this book and I really warmed to her.

I enjoyed these books so much I am now going to try to get my hands on the other two books.

* I am not in any way sponsored by amazon, I only linked this site as it had some of the best prices.

October Favorites

So like I said In my previous post, every first Friday of the month I will be posting my monthly favourites. This can be anything from beauty products, brands, books, movies, pretty much anything that I enjoyed throughout that month.

This month is my first favourites post and I have 6 amazing products that have really boosted my mood throughout the cold month of October!

The first product is Clean & Clear Morning Energy Skin.

Clean & Clear have always worked best on my skin. I always use the black head cleanser but I came across this morning energy cleanser recently and, this might sound dramatic but, it has changed my life. I am far from a morning person but when I use this cleanser in the morning the lemon and papaya extracts really wake me right up!

Price: £4.20 correct for Boots stores November 6th 2015

This next product is also by Clean & Clear but this is the Dual Action moisturizer.

I always make sure that I moisturise once I have cleansed my face and this is the perfect moisturizer! It makes my skin feel fresh and gives it a slight tingle which I love! It’s also prevents spots and is oil free. Amazing!

Price: £3.20 correct for Boots stores November 6th 2015

This wouldn’t be a favourites without a LUSH product now would it!

LUSH has released a new dusting powder this year called Fairy Dust.

First off the name fairy dust is so cute, secondly it smells like snow fairy, thirdly ITS GLITTERY!

You simply dust on to your skin and it leaves a beautiful glittery shimmer, but even better than that you can sprinkle it on your bedding and have it smell of snow fairy all night long. WARNING: You will wake up like a glittery fairy, but who wouldn’t want that!?

Price: £5.95 correct for Lush November 6th 2016

My next 3 favourites for this month are from OGX.  I have used these products before and I have always been super happy with them but last month my hair was very dry so I tried out the Nourishing Coconut Milk range and oh my!

They do as they say, they nourish your hair but the also use whipped egg white proteins to add strength and elasticity to your hair. The scent of coconut stays in your hair for ages, it so beautiful!

The oil I normally use before applying heat to my hair and I also spray some on my hands and smooth down my hair to calm the frizz. It works wonders!

I will forever recommend this brand but especially this product!

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments!

A few new updates!

I have come to realise that EforElle is a bit of a mess! I don’t get paid to blog unfortunately, so I have to work too. I am currently a waitress and I work shifts that change every week. This means I post when I can and it’s becoming messy.

One week I post once and the next I post 4 times! It gets very confusing for me and it must do for you too!

So from now on I shall be posting 3 times a week:

Monday to get you through those Monday blues!

Wednesday for a mid-week boost!

Saturday for your weekend read!

The first Friday of every month I will be doing a month favourites.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

Winter is just around the corner, well the 21st December is the first official day of winter but it feels cold enough to be winter way before then.

The cold does all kinds of damage to my skin and lips, so I have repurchased some beauty products that I adored last year to keep my skin as soft as possible.

Today I am going to review the Bubblegum lip scrub by LUSH.

If I remember rightly this product was originally by LUSH sister company Be Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful (who have now closed down), the product was so great that they passed it on to lush in 2009 along with popcorn lip scrub and mint julips lip scrub.

My friend had purchased the popcorn lip scrub and I gave it a go. It worked wonders and tasted amazing, so I planned on popping into my local store and picking myself one up. When I saw/smelt the bubble gum one though I fell in love!

First off its pink! Secondly it smells like Snow Fairy which is one of my all time favourite lush smells!

At £5.50 a pot some people may find it a little pricey, after all it is just caster sugar, oils, colouring and flavouring but this little pot lasts such a long time and lets be realistic would you really take the time to make it yourself? I know I wouldn’t!

Use this product to buff and prep your lips before applying your make up. To use just apply a little with a clean finger and scrub your lips until you get rid of all that dead skin. Its not greasy at all but it does taste good!

Never use this out in public because if you’re like me you will forget that the sugar is on your mouth and look a little silly.

Ive had this little pot in my pamper bag for a month now and it has been an absolute life saver!

Quantitative Ingredients: Castor Sugar, Organic Jojoba Oil, Methyl Ionone, Flavour, Colour 45410, Colour 45380.

Price (in 2015): £5.50
