Easter Jars

Getting loads of treats over Easter is amazing but sometimes you just have no where to put them so Happiness is Homemade have created some springtime jars. They are so beautiful you can have them out on display. The best thing is they are super easy to do and you can get them out year after year.

Start with a clean Mason jar and some vinyl stickers. The stickers used on these jars are from the Silhouette Store and cost 65p each. Alternatively you can print out and use the template I have provided below. Apply the stickers to the smooth side of the jar, and press firmly to make sure they’re completely stuck to the glass.

Paint the jar with a chalky finish paint. You may also use a spray paint but if you do this then flip the jar upside down just to make sure no paint goes inside the jar. Allow the jar to dry for 10 minutes before carefully pealing off the vinyl sticker. Add some ribbon or lace to the top and fill with treats.

Easter Nests

With Easter right around the corner I figured I would start sharing some recipes for treats!

These chocolate Easter nests are so simple and kids (and adults) love them, so its best you make plenty! You can use any cereal you like to make these, but I like to use cornflakes.

Ingredients

  • 100g milk chocolate
  • 50g butter
  • 2tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g cereal of your choice
  • Mini sugar coated Easter eggs

Method

  1. Break up the chocolate into squares and place in a plastic or glass microwave proof mixing bowl with the butter and syrup and heat in the microwave on 30 second bursts until melted, then stir until smooth.
  2. Add the cereal and stir with a spoon until it is well coated in chocolate.
  3. Place 12 paper cupcake cases in a bun tin and spoon the mixture into the cases. Place in the fridge to set for 30 mins.
  4. Decorate with sugar eggs

It really is that easy and they are a classic treat at Easter!

Comment below your favourite Easter treats.
