Walt Disney Wednesdays: 02. WHERE TO STAY?

Disney’s Boardwalk

Hey Guys! It took a little while but I’m back with part 02 of the Walt Disney Wednesdays and today I want to help you pick the perfect place to stay on Disney property.

So you have chosen what time of year suits you best,  but once again depending on how many of you there are and what time of year the prices of property to stay at can fluctuate rather a lot!

Lets start with the pros and cons of staying on site first.

Ariel's "Part of Your World" at Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Art of animation

The biggest benefit of staying on site is that it is convenient. The hotels are all closer to the parks, which in some cases can mean it’s as simple as taking a monorail , bus or boat from the hotel to the park and in some cases you can even walk to the parks!

This allows you to pop back in the middle of your day for a rest and freshen up without feeling guilty that you have missed a chunk of your day. Less time traveling gives you more time in the parks to get things done. It also allows you more sleep at night because there is less traveling in the mornings.

Another aspect of that convenience is transportation. Guest’s don’t actually need a car to get around Disney World, of course you can if you want to and you will need one outside of Disney World, but if you don’t plan on leaving Walt Disney World grounds then you can save the buck and use the transport provided.  You can pick up Disney’s Magical Express from the airport (MCO only) and it will take you to your hotel, and then Disney transportation once on property to get from their hotel to the parks and other locations on property. All of this transportation is complimentary (or built into the price of their room). It’s very reliable too!

If you do decide to hire a car though the parking at the parks will be free for you (normally $20 PER DAY!)

Grand Floridian

Another perk of staying on site is Extra Magic hours! On different days, certain parks at Walt Disney World open early or stay open late for Walt Disney World resort hotel guests only! It’s a great time to get loads done as the parks are a lot quieter. I highly recommend using the extra magic hours they are just so efficient! You can find the extra magic hours on the My Disney Experience.

The Disney dining plan is a pro on some levels. The Disney dining plan is where you pay in advance for your food. There are different options available for you and you can check those out on My Disney Experience! Right now this isn’t sounding like a pro because you have to pay for it BUT at certain times of the year they offer it to you for FREE!

Animal Kingdom Lodge

My favourite pro of all though is the Disney theming! Disney know how to do a lot of things but their themeing is out of this world incredible. You can stay in a hotel with all of your favourite characters, or why not stay in the Caribbean? If you like animals then you would love Animal Kingdom Lodge where you can look out over the savannah from your balcony! You are immersed in the Disney bubble and it is the most incredible feeling!

Never Mind the Ballistics

YES YES YES! I finally got my hands on a Never Mind the Ballistics so I can review it for you. I did have one from launch day but it got wet in the bag and it was a horror scene.

It is shaped like your typical bath bomb but there is nothing typical about it! It does remind me a bit of Roller which was in the LUSH Kitchen but I’m pretty sure that there’s not been anything like this in stores. It has an organic fair trade cocoa butter topping that covers half the bath bomb and melts in the warm water leaving you with moisturised and nourished skin. Which is what we all need this cold season!

This is part of the Christmas range but like a lot of the other products released this year, it’s not very festive but honestly it’s so amazing that it doesn’t really matter. The pink and orange colour combination seens perfect for summer to me and the scent of lime and sweet wild orange oils are more fresh and zesty than festive. It also contains bananas, if I recall I’m pretty sure that the demonstrator in LUSH said that each one has 1 WHOLE banana in, which also softens the water and your skin.

It is a very slow fizzer but I think that is down to half of it being oil based. The main colour of the water is yellow but when you get to the centre there are streams of pink that dance around the bath.

Over all I’m don’t think that this should be a Christmas product but I do love it. I think it would be perfect in the summer months. I relate warm hearty scents with Christmas and this is just a little too fresh.

Quantitative Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Lime Oil, Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Olibanum Resinoid, Fresh Banana, Cream of Tartar, Gardenia Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Propylene Glycol,l PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides & PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, *Limonene, Perfume, Colour 19140:1, Colour 19140, Colour 45410, Colour 15510, Colour 14700, Colour 17200.

Price: £4.25 each

Rating: ★★★★ (if it was released in summer it would get 5 ★)

LUSH Northern Lights Review

A new and ‘improved’ northern lights is back this christmas at LUSH. If you remember the  Northern lights from previous then you will remember how every one complained that it the stick shaped bath bomb was broken by the time they had got it home. Well, LUSH has brought it back in a chunkier pill shape bath bomb.

Now I like to be honest in my reviews and there are going to be some things that just aren’t for me. This is one of those things.

Screenshot 2016-10-17 19.20.46.png

I like the improvement on the size and shape and I really like the colours that it creates. The scent of this is beautiful, with Ylang Ylang oil and the floral hint of Jasmine Absolute really does make it wonderful. Not for long though as the scent disappears very very fast.

Screenshot 2016-10-17 19.20.58.png

It’s an extremely fast fizzer and it was over in a few seconds. The colours really were beautiful to look at but the pinky/purple colour stained my skin and I struggled to get it off.

I don’t really have a load to say about this bath bomb. I was really hopeful that it would be one of the better christmas ones but for me it just wasn’t.

Quantitative Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Jasmine Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Linalool, Limonene, Amyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Lilial, Colour 45410, Colour 42090, Colour 59040

Where to eat in Disney World…(interactive)

When you read this post I will have 202 days till my Disney World trip!!! OH MY GOODNESS!

When visiting Disney World one of the more amazing things is the FOOD! The Mickey shaped food, dole whip and CRONUTS! I actually think that cronuts are the best thing I have ever eaten in my life but unfortunately you can’t live off of them (as much as id like to).

So we will need to have proper meals and Disney World offers some incredible restaurants. There really is something for everyone, from character dining, to themed restaurants or for something a little more formal they have load of fine dining experiences to choose from.

If you don’t know already Disney do something called ADR (advanced dining reservations), this allows you to book a table up to 180 before you trip and trust me you will need to book! As you can expect Disney restaurants book up very fast.

I have 22 Days till I can book my reservations and I want your help! It is tradition for us to go to Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom for breakfast on our first day but the rest of our trip we are super indecisive on where to go so I want you to head over to my twitter where there will be a poll every 3/4 days for you to pick the restaurant that we should go to.

Follow me on Twitter @eleana_jane to keep up to date with each poll and the results!

First up this week is the vote for our second table service meal of the trip that will be at Disney Springs.

The choices are:

Raglan Road
Wolfgang puck Grand Cafe
Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming

but remember guys you have to vote on twitter or it won’t count!

Monster Ball LUSH Review

Guess who’s back! Back again! Eleana’s back! Tell a friend!….Oh dear Eleana is the least gangster name going but do tell your friends!

Hello Guys! I am back with my second Halloween LUSH review, this time we are looking at Monsters’ Ball and I know I say this every time but…this is by far my favourite. I mean it this time!

Just look at this little fella! He kind of reminds me of a pink version of Mick Wazowski from Monsters Inc. Any one else think that? His eye is actually made from vegan white chocolate but its probably best still not to eat it.

Right lets get on with this review!…I said in my review of Autumn Leaf that I really enjoyed that is was a Autumn/Halloween bath bomb that wasn’t a ‘scary’, character, monster style product and I do stick by my word. It was refreshing but Halloween IS about those things and lets be honest this little guy isn’t scary his kind of cute. He smells incredible too. It holds the same scent as the calacas product family. Does anyone remember The Enchanter from 2015? Well, it’s the same scent as that. So this not necessarily a new product as much as it is a new design, a ‘revamp’ if you will.

Filled with lime and neroli oil (which boosts your happy hormone) this ballistic gives you a hit of zesty goodness but it still has a earthy hint to it making it perfect for the season and great for an uplifting bath. With the addition of coco butter to sooth and moisturise your skin and olibanum oil for that extra relaxation.

Monsters’ ball is a medium fizzer with pink/purple being the initial colour. As is spins and foams it releases more of the calacas scent and begins to release the blue centre. The blue, pink and purple layers swirl around the bath creating beautiful patterns. Although they aren’t very seasonal colours they are very pretty to watch dancing around the surface of the water.

As the colours reach the edge of the tub they start to form a pink and purple ombre. This for me personally is why this bath bomb is now one of my favourites!

I really hope that this will be brought back in the future, even if it’s not shaped like a little monster but even if the colours and formula are brought back in an ‘all year round’ ballistic. That would be amazing!

Just incase they don’t though I will be grabbing a load of these before they sell out!

Quantitative Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Himalayan Rock Salt, Fragrance, Lime Oil, Neroli Oil, Olibanum Oil, Cream Of Tartar, Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, PEG-6 Caprylic / Caprylic Glycerides & PEG-80 Almond Glycerides, Propylene Glycol, Citral, Limonene, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal Blue 1, Red 27, Red 33, Red 28, Vegan Dark Chocolate.

Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb

Being well into Autumn and Halloween just around the corner I realised I best start reviewing the Lush products for this season. So up first is Autumn Leaf bath bomb!

This bath bomb really appealed to me when I saw it in the store, it’s not like the standard spooky halloween products that are released. You can already see the colours that run through it before it has even touched the water. It really is a beautiful ballistic.

Sharing its scent with Grass Shower Gel and bubble bar this bath bomb holds a very fresh, outdoorsy, earthy scent with a combination of neroli, sandalwood and maple sap it really is calming.

Lush have really upped their game recently and the stories that their products tell are just wonderful. The story of Autumn Leaf is the colour change in leaves between Summer and Autumn.

Autumn Leaf is a flow fizzer and because of its shape it floats on the water keeping its shape for longer. It spills out greens, yellow, warm orange and red creating an almost ombre foam.

Over all I think this is one of the best Autumn bath bombs they have released.  I will for sure be grabbing a few of these before the end of the season and I hope it makes another appearance.

Lets continue with my story…

On the 2nd of September I made a post about my emotions and thoughts throughout losing my Mum, I called it ‘A story I want to tell’ and I will link it here, it’s probably best you read that one first if you haven’t already of this won’t make much sense.

I suffer from delayed-onset post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which causes severe anxiety, flashbacks, uncontrollable thoughts and nightmares but worst of all I lost a lot of my memory from my childhood and few years after my mum passed away. The doctor said that this is normal when someone loses someone that close.

I will tell you what I do remember though…

My dad planned the funeral as far as I know, he passed everything by my Nan and Granddad (my Mum’s parents), he picked two songs to be played the first was ‘Have I told you lately that I love you – Van Morrison’ and ‘Goodbye my lover –  James’. People gathered at my house and we went to the church, the same church that my mum and dad were married. The actual funeral was a bit of a blur, there were loads of people, like LOADS!

My dad read out the poem that he wrote with me and my sister. It was hard to watch. The rest was a blur until we got to the crematorium and the curtain went around where my mum laid. This is where I realised that this was it, she wasn’t coming back. I remember say ‘no’ over and over again and sobbing. There was a friend of mine, Nick, who was sitting behind me at the crematorium and I just remember him try to calm me down and keep me seated. If Nick wasn’t there I’m pretty sure that I would have got out of my seat and run over to my mum.

After the funeral I was alright, that’s when my PSTD started, I started to forget. I blocked everything out and just carried on living my life. When I was 16 I decided that was going to follow in my Mum’s footsteps and become a hairdresser, I enjoyed it at first but then it started to make me feel like I wasn’t being me and I was just trying to keep mum alive.

When I turned 18 I started drinking a lot more. I would go to a local social club and as I was one of the oldest I used to go the shop and buy us ass alcohol and we would get drunk. It was only a few but then the few became a few more and so on. This led to self harm, and I wasn’t hurting myself to die or for attention, I simply done it because for that short amount of time my mind was focused on stopping the blood than the fact I felt so alone and lost.

When it was one of my friends 18th birthdays, I think I was 20, I drank a lot! So much that I  cried, screamed and head butted the floor. I was having breakdown and I believe it was around this time that I started to have everything really hit home and everything I had bottled up for 6 years just escaped but in the worst way possible. That night I asked my friends to take me to my Dads girlfriends house because I didn’t want to face my dad in this state but on arrival I learned that he was already there. My friends took me inside and left me with my dad.

I don’t think my Dad really knew what to do, he had never seen me in this state before. All I kept saying is ‘She’s gone, Mums gone’ to which he replied ‘she will always be here, she’s never really gone’ but I just wasn’t having any of it. It must have been so hard for him to watch me in such a bad way. After a bit of a fight he managed to get me home and to bed.

The next morning it was all a bit awkward and he didn’t say anything to me. So, I decided that I was going to tell him everything, I showed him my arms and my legs and told him that I was really struggling. I suggested going to a hospital for treatment but he didn’t think I needed to. He could see I was bad but he knew I would be okay at home.

I went to the doctors and got anti depressants and all that jazzy stuff. Time went on and I took my ‘happy pills’, I got on with life feeling pretty numbed out. When I hit 22 I cut again a few times but it was just a little hiccup.

I know that a lot of people say it gets better in time but does it really? I don’t feel any better without my mum, in fact I know that in years to come I won’t have her to help me wedding dress shopping, or be at my wedding, she will never be able to help and advise me through pregnancy and she will never get the chance to be a Nan. I only feel okay because I have blocked so much out.

Don’t get me wrong what people see of my life, it looks pretty wonderful but thats on the surface, I’m not saying I’m in the same place as I was aged 20 but I know that I will never be as happy as I was aged 12 when everything was going perfect.

Once again I’m not writing this for sympathy of anything like that, I know I’m not the only person that has been through this. It’s simply something that I think about a lot and just wanted to write it down

I Heart…Quadrilogy book review

I feel a bit cheeky naming this post a quadrilogy review because I’m yet to read the fourth book, I Heart Vegas* and the fifth book, I Heart London* by Lindsey Kelk I have however read the first three books in this series, I Heart New York*, I Heart Hollywood* and I Heart Paris*. I have to admit they are one of the best series that I have read.

I like easy reading. I like books I can relate to. So I tend to stick to young adult books.

I Heart New York

A friend that I worked with bought this book the year it was released and would read it on her lunch break. When she was finished with it I asked if I could read the back, which may have led to me reading half the book that day. I enjoyed it so much that as soon as I was home I jumped online and ordered myself one!

The story begins in London, with twenty-something Angela Clark catching her Fiancé cheating on her in the back of their car whilst they are at her best friends wedding.  The worst part being that everyone already knew, except Angela.

Angela escapes to New York for what is planned to be a little while. She rents a hotel room for a few days whilst she is there and a lot of unexpected things happen. She befriends one of the hotel clerks, She meets two very different men along the way, both who sweep her off her feet, there is a lot of shopping and she ends up bagging a job doing just what she loves, writing!

What we really want to know though is, will she go back to London, as her family and friends are urging her to, or will she stay in New York and fulfil her dreams?

I Heart Hollywood

I Heart Hollywood is the second of five books in Kelks I Heart… series and having enjoyed the first one so much I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book as soon as it was released in 2010.

In I Heart Hollywood Angela Clark is given a big opportunity to go to Hollywood and interview the gorgeous actor James Jacobs. Problems start to occur between her and her new boyfriend Alex when photographers snapping some photos making it look like her and James are an item. On top of this she is really close to losing her job which also means losing her Visa and having to go back to her old life in England.

Angela has to try to prove that there is nothing going on between her and James but this is not going to be easy. No one believes her and she has to admit looking at the pictures it does paint a pretty convincing story. But Angela finds out some information about James which could save her but how will she be able to prove it?

The sort of this book defiantly doesn’t match the title though because Angela defiantly didn’t heart Hollywood.

I didn’t really enjoy this book as much I did the first one.

I Heart Paris

I didn’t buy this book as quickly as the others because i was a little let down by the second, but oh my goodness did Kelk bring it back to life with this third book!

The moment Angela boards the plane trouble starts and the disasters keep coming. When Angela arrives in Paris finds that her luggage has been blown up so she only has the items which she is standing in. If this was not bad enough when she walks into the cafe to meet Alex she sees a blonde bombshell sitting on his lap! Angela finds herself very isolated and a little home sick in this third book when she finds out some truths about Alex’s past, and finds herself at a point where her job, relationship, and friendships are all on the line.

What was meant to be a nice romantic break to Paris was actually the break from hell. You find when you are reading this book you keep thinking surely things cannot get any worse for Angela but something else always seems to happen. That being said there is an unexpected twist towards the end!

I felt more connected to Angela in this book and I really warmed to her.

I enjoyed these books so much I am now going to try to get my hands on the other two books.
