D23 WDW Updates

Hello my Disney lovers!

Sorry it has been so long but if you saw my previous post then you will know that I have moved and well, there isn’t much internet available here but whilst I have a little Wifi and time I have decided that I will FINALLY give you the D23 updates.

D23 has now confirmed 10 new projects from now until 2021! It’s going to be a lot to take onboard but its Disney so we all know it will be magical.

Magic Kingdom

Something that I am personally excited about it the Tron themed coaster that is arriving in magic kingdom in 2021! D23 have announced that it will be located in tomorrow land in a space next to space mountain.

Tron is a hugely popular coaster from Shanghai Disneyland and I’m sure it going to be just as popular in Orlando.

tron concept

A new theatre full of entertainment is in the planning process current and there is no set date but it has been discussed that it will be based on the iconic Willis Wood theatre in 1920s Kansas City, where Walt lived after he left Marceline and will be situated in what is currently backstage areas between Main Street U.S.A. and Tomorrowland.

Hollywood Studios

Disney have now revealed Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the name of the new Star Wars-themed land. The new 14 acre land will open in 2019, first in Anaheim, and later at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

minnie and mickey railway

All the rumours about Great Movie Ride closing down were true and it is gutting but I have faith in Disney and know that this will not disappoint us with the new attraction, Minnie and Mickey’s Railway, which is to take the Great Movie Rides place in the Chinese theatre.

The Great Movie Ride, which will close Aug. 13, 2017. Minnie and Mickey’s railway ride will make extensive use of new screen technology that Disney is calling 2 1/2D, with no 3D glasses required.

“This is one of the boldest…most impossible things I’ve ever worked on in almost 40 years of being an Imagineer. And you know what? That’s what I love about it. Well, that, and Mickey,” Kevin said. “This is not going to be a small attraction, it’s going to be game-changing.”

toystory land

Disney have announced that Toy Story land will be opening summer 2018.

You will feel like a real toy with everything towering over you. You will get to explore the world of Andy’s backyard with your favourite Toy Story characters, including Woody and Buzz.

Toy Story Land will feature two new themed attractions. Slinky Dog Dash will be a family coaster attraction and Alien Swirling Saucers will also be a new attraction at Toy Story Land.

Epcot

A Disney•Pixar’s “Ratatouille”-inspired attraction is coming to the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase.

Guests will be able to shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant.

According to Disney leaders, both attractions will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.

Guardians of the Galaxy

The Universe of Energy had its last day of operation on August 13 2017.  Epcot’s brand new E-ticket attraction will be based on the rockin’ and action-packed world of “Guardians of the Galaxy.” No further details were announced.

China pavilion

To showcase the splendor and majesty of China, an updated film will be added using a next-generation digital camera system to film a brand new, seamless Circle-Vision show for the China pavilion.

Mission: SPACE

In addition to an updated Orange Mission, a brand new Green Mission will take guests on a stunning tour around the Earth, with younger cadets joining the adventure for the very first time. Mission: SPACE will reopen this August.

New Space restaurant

Adjacent to Mission: SPACE, a new table-service restaurant will invite guests to travel high above the Earth for an unforgettable dining experience. The new restaurant will be managed by Patina Restaurant Group and an opening will be announced at a later date.

Walt Disney Wednesdays: 03. RESORT TIPS!

Here are some over all tips for people staying in resorts. I use most of these and they help a lot!

  • They are promotions and offers that you can take advantage of if you book your next Disney World trip whilst staying at a Disney World Resort .

  • Gift cards are really useful and can be used for near enough anything. Once benefit of the gift card is you can use it to pay for any room charges that you have.

gc

  • My Disney Experience app only allows you to assign one card per party but if you pop to the concierge desk in your resort they can assign a different card per person for you.

  • If you room doesn’t come with a microwave then you can use the one in the food court/quick service area.

  • If you are worried about leaving valuables unattended in your room you can always use the ‘Privacy Please’ signs that Disney supply and nobody will enter your room. (although i don’t advise this on longer trips as housekeeping won’t clean your room an it could end up messy)

  • If you are on a longer stay and want to keep a few valuables safe then pop down to the concierge and most resorts will keep then safe for you.

  • Use the online check-in when staying at Disney Resorts which is an option 60 days before your trip begins. The only time I wouldn’t do this is if I was going to upgrade my room.

  • When you’re staying on-site, you can get a wake-up call from a character. Side note: The characters change all the time.

  • If you are staying for 7+ nights I advice getting the resort mug which is currently priced at $17.99 but it is refillable. It is only refillable in the resorts but you can refill it in any resort not just the one you are staying at.
